What is a life group?

A life group is a meeting that happens in a home with the purpose of encouraging us to grow as Christians.

To help us Life groups are structured around four w’s. Each of the w’s allows us to become a ‘whole life’ Life group that centres on being a community of Christians who love God and express it in some form of worship, love each other by providing care for one another, love the world by supporting each other in our everyday lives where God has placed us.

Welcome:   A time to welcome each other and do an icebreaker together, a sharing question that answers something about one’s life. It is a time of bringing the group members into each other’s lives, making the connection of people-to-people.

Worship:   a time to turn the focus to God, to worship Him. This time may include prayer, music, Scripture and other actions that help the group to sense the very presence of God in their midst. It is a time of upward focus, connecting people to God. It’s a time when we can use Spiritual gifts to build up one another. It is also a time when we connect with God.

Word:   This is where we have a look at a passage from the Bible, discus what it meant, and consider how it helps us live out our Christian lives today. All opinions are valued and listened too, as we tease out from the bible what God is telling us through it.

Witness:  This is the part of the night we look to equip each other for our daily lives with Jesus by praying for each other and the challenges we are facing in life.

Life groups are not designed to be jam-packed but to provide lots of space to digest the bible, apply the scriptures to our lives, and to build relationships with God and each other. It is hoped there is lots of space to do life together in Life groups.

When will the Life group happen?

Our life group is on most Tuesday Nights during school term time at 7.30pm and will finish at 9.30pm
