Biblical– We belive the Bible is God’s trustworthy guide in all matters of Christian living and belief. We take our practice and beliefs from the scriptures using sound interpretive principles rather than the spirit of our age. Taking our lead from the Historical Church, all the way back to Jesus, in how we handle the scriptures.
Jesus Centred– The Bible points us to Jesus as God’s final word to us and as the one who reveals who God is. We understand Jesus as described in the historic creeds of the Church.
Trinitarian– We believe God is revealed in scripture as the mysterious Trinity- One God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father creator of all things; The Son who rescues all things through his life, death, rising from the dead, assension into heaven and on his visible bodily return at the end of the age; The Holy Spirit who is the indwelling presence of God in every believer, equiping them with gifts for worship and mission.
Missional– We believe Jesus has left his church a mission to complete and so we seek to live out his Great Commision. We making disciples through evangelism, we baptisise disciples who want to commit their lives to Jesus and we grow disciples through teaching and leting them have a go at ministry themselves.
Compassionate– Engaging with issues of social Justice; Engaging with issues of Social need ; Engaging with caring for creation.
Contemporary worship in The Holy Spirit- Being a prayer centred Church; We expect and create space for the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and openly use the gifts he gives in worship. We seek to hold tradition lightly and be open to innovation and creativity in worship. We seek to glorify the one God: Father, Jesus and the Spirit as we worship.
We agree with the beliefs of the Evangelical Alliance. https://www.eauk.org/about-us/how-we-work/basis-of-faith
